HDR Photo of the Day Fireweed and Glacier
This was a terrific year for wildflowers in Alaska. This HDR image was taken near Juneau, Alaska with the Mendenhall Glacier in the background. This is a spot frequented by most of the tour buses going to the glacier. I try to get here early to setup my tripod and wait for the light. There is a trail that you can hike to get closer to the glacier, but this spot gives you everything…mountains, glacier, trees and fireweed. What a great day!

Mike,
Some really great images here. Great work.
Put you in my blog roll, if that’s OK.
Found you in “Spotting”.
Best,
Louis
Thanks for taking me to Alaska. I like the way the mountais are framed by the trees. The foreground with the purple flowers is a good contrast to the mountains. Well done!
Wow, this is incredible! The contrast between the hazy blue mountains and the vibrant purple and green plants is beautiful. I can only imagine how great this would look on a huge stretched canvas.
