Alaska State Parks chose my photo for a 40th Anniversary Poster. Going to print this week!

The cool thing about this photo is the story behind it. My wife Meg and step daughter Coki were with me hiking on Turnagain Trail. The baby was barely visible when we approached, but as we got closer he stood up. The little one was very curious about us and the big white lens pointing at him. Mom was disinterested and only looked towards us in this photo.  Here are some others I took that day.

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

March 24th, 2010 Mike Criss No comments

I stopped in to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center this week. I like to see the animals in the snow and before the tourists arrive. If I make it during the week, I will usually be the only one there. The coyote was very active when I first got there and the bears were off napping. The bears came out for a short time but went back into the woods to sleep. Caught a couple good shots of the coyote anyway.
